ALLEGED MASTERMIND BEHIND DEATH OF WARD COUNCILLOR CANDIDATE ARRESTED A  44-year-old former councillor was jailed on Monday after he was connected to the murder of ANC comrade Piet Moletsane, who was active in politics and running for Ward 4 councillor in Meloding at the time of the murder. All of the accused are charged with murder, according to Makhele. Piet Moletsane was gunned dead by two hitmen aged 32 and 34 on September 23, 2021, while leaving the tavern where he worked, according to Free State police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele. On January 28, 2022, the two hitmen were successfully tracked down and caught, and they are still in custody. The alleged mastermind is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, while the other two suspects are still being held in custody. 

EFF FORMER SECRETARY-GENERAL  DAUGHTER FOUND DEAD  Hillary Gardee, the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee, was found dead near Mbombela west of Nelspruit. Hillary, a 28-year-old woman, was last seen on Friday at the Spar supermarket in Nelspruit. She went missing with a three-year-old child, who was later found and returned to her family. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a laptop bag. After then, a reward of R100,000 was given to anyone who could assist in her location. Residents were advised to call the police if they had any information on her whereabouts. Mr Julius Malema, the EFF president along with members of the party, have been hunting for and distributing missing people posters through social media sites and radio stations. The EFF broke the news of Hillary's death to the public with deep sorrow. The family is still making arrangements for the burial, therefore no details about it have been released.

Dagga entrepreneurs are invited to use state-owned land in Gauteng. The Gauteng provincial government and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have invited interested businesses to submit business partnership proposals   as  part of its new cannabis industrialization plan The government stated in a request for information document released on Friday (29 April) that it hoped to 'unlock economic opportunities and job creation' in the province by growing and processing crop and cannabis on an industrial scale. To work on the project, the Gauteng provincial government is willing to give leases on state-owned land as well as tenancy in special economic zones. It has also suggested joint funding and other partnerships with other government departments to assist in the growth of the local cannabis business.  COSATU  VS MR PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA Mr President Cyril Ramaphosa was expected to speak at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng, North West province, at the ANC alliance partner Cosatu's annual worker's day event. However, after failing to convince striking employees to settle down on at least two times, Ramaphosa was forced to leave the stadium and proceed to the police station. One of the reasons why he wasn't allowed to speak was because there was a refusal of salary increment from 2020. Workers have lost jobs from state owned companies allegedly looted by senior politicians in collision with the private sectors. Cosatu says Ramaphosa being chased from the rally is unacceptable; but a warning to the ANC. Mr president Cyril Ramaphosa wasn't allowed to speak with the workers but however, the trade union federation also said it should serve as a warning o the ANC.  It was then concluded that Mr President is not fit to rule.

  Malesela Teffo, an attorney for four of the men accused of killing Senzo Meyiwa, was recently detained at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria. The General Counsel of the Bar of South Africa (GCB) claims that the location, time, and manner of lawyer Malesela Teffo's detention gave the impression that he was being humiliated or, worse, intimidated and harassed. Teffo is the lawyer for four of the men accused of assassinating Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa, who was killed at his lover Kelly Khumalo's Vosloorus house in 2014. Teffo was detained by an investigating officer with the assistance of members of the Tactical Response Team, who are providing security throughout the trial after the Meyiwa murder trial was postponed on Thursday. Residents in Soweto have demanded that South African's electrical sector be overhauled, claiming that it is biased against the country's black working class. This is according to a new analysis from the Centre for Sociology Research and Practice (CSRP) on the country's energy racism. The CPRP is part of the University of Johannesburg's Department of Sociology (UJ). The study was done in the Soweto township and aimed to learn about the community's reactions, responses, and solutions to South African's issue. One of the main topics discussed was the cost of electricity and the possibility of introducing flat pricing. Following repeated previous announcements to the contrary, Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has cautioned that the license renewal grace period, which expires next Thursday, 5 May, will not be extended again. Measures to make the renewal process easier for impacted drivers, according to Mbalula they are being implemented across the country. These include extending driving license testing centre hours till the end of the month and permitting walk-ins in regions that accept online bookings. The national Department of Transport is on schedule to produce excellent driver's licence cards. By April 2022, the congestion that existed between November between November 2021 and January 2022 will be gone.
