SOMIZI'S CHARGES OF ABUSE

In the much-anticipated season 5 of his reality TV show, Living The Dream With Somizi Mhlongo, media star Somizi Mhlongo will confront his approaching divorce from ex husband Mohale Motaung. The Idols SA judge digs into the facts of his divorce settlement with Motaung in a trailer for the show, which is due to broadcast on May 4. Mhlongo will also address claims of physical abuse made against him by Motaung last year,. Motaung told City Press that the show's producers did not approach him about sharing his side of story, but that he was fine with Mhlongo revealing their failed marriage. Motaung said: I think he should address what he feels like he wants to. We are divorcing, so it's already out there. It is his truth and I believe that everybody must feel free to say what they want.

After reportedly failing to reach an agreeable divorce settlement through mediation, the two are ready to fight in court. Since June of last year, conversations have been ongoing. Following severe abuse charges against the former Metro FM host in a leaked audio tape last year, the separated couple declared their divorce. Mhlongo allegedly assaulted Motaung after a disagreement, according to the audio. Mhlongo has a sit-down with his long-time friend and actress Lorcia Cooper in the new season teaser, who questions him about the allegations of abuse. After being a member of the previous season, Motaung stated he was informed by the new production firm, Dopezuluboi Productions, that he would no longer be a part of the show. "They just informed me that the season has started, they just informed me that I will not be part of the show, " he said.

Season 5 of Mzansi Magic's Living The Dream With Somizi is now available on Showmax, with the new episodes released every Wednesday. Pearl Thusi, Shauwn Mkhize, Vusi Nova, Kelly Khumalo, and Lerato Kganyago are among the media celebrities expected to appear. The show will also include Mhlongo's daughter, Bahumi, and her actress mother, Palesa Madisakwane. In a statement this week Mhlongo said:" It's been a roller-coaster, but the dream never dies, no matter how crazy things may get. Angeke! Life isn't always easy, but we must remember that the hard times are there to teach us. "Mhlongo is one of the most prominent people in pop culture in South Africa said Candice Fangueiro, Showmax's head of content.

"His wedding special, Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale : The Union, was named the year's best union and set a record for the most first-day views on Showmax when it broadcast, after telling the story of the wedding, which appeared to many to be a fairy tale,  we decided to after everything that happened after that."
