The brutal murder of a 40-year-old man has divided SA.

The man allegedly stole a large sum of money from tavern owners before his death.

Social media users had mixed reactions to the death with some saying it was a lawless act and others saying the victim had it coming to him. What do you think about the murder?

2 Suspects Arrested for Chaining and Beating 40-Year-Old Man Who Allegedly Stole R20k in North West.

Two people who allegedly beat a man to death after chaining him in the North West were arrested on Friday The victim, Thabiso Mothibedi, allegedly stole R20 000 from two tavern owners in the area before his murder The two suspects, aged 23 and 31, are set to appear before the Taung Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The victim was certified dead on arrival at Manthe Clinic, according to SABC News. Captain Sam Tselanyane said Mothibedi was chained to a generator and assaulted. 

According to police, they were called to a local clinic after a group of men requested to check if Mothibedi was still alive. Police are expected to arrest more people suspected to be involved in the murder. Social media users have mixed reactions to the murder.

Residents in Soweto have demanded that South African's electrical sector be overhauled, claiming that it is biased against the country's black working class. This is according to a new analysis from the Centre for Sociology Research and Practice (CSRP) on the country's energy racism.
